Material characteristics
Material characteristics of fluorine rubber
1.High-temperature resistance performance
The most prominent feature of the fluorine rubber sealing ring is the high temperature resistance. In the working environment of 200ºC to 250ºC, it can work for a long time, and not only limited to this, it can also work for a short time at the high temperature of 300ºC.
2.Climate aging resistance and ozone resistance
Fluorine rubber has very good aging resistance and ozone resistance. DuPont The performance of the developed VitonA is still satisfactory after 10 years of natural storage, with no obvious cracking in the air with an ozone volume fraction of 0.01%.
3.Chemical stability / corrosion resistance
Fluorinated rubber has excellent corrosion resistance. Generally speaking, it is better than the organic liquid (fuel oil, solvent, hydraulic medium, etc.), concentrated acid (nitric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid), high concentration of hydrogen peroxide and other strong oxidants, are better than the stability of other rubber.
4. Low-temperature resistance
The low temperature performance of fluorine rubber is general, which is due to its own chemical structure. The low temperature resistance of fluorine rubber can generally maintain the elasticity of the limit temperature of-15~20ºC. As the temperature decreases, its tensile strength becomes stronger and stronger at low temperatures, but becomes harder at low temperatures. When used as a seal, a low-temperature seal leakage problem often occurs. The brittle temperature varies with the sample thickness. For example, when the thickness of type 26 fluorine rubber is 1.87 mm, its brittle temperature is-45ºC, -53ºC when the thickness is 0.63 mm, and-69ºC when the thickness is 0.25 mm.
5. Swelling resistance
Fluoro rubber seal has high chemical stability and is the best medium resistance of all elastomers. Type 26 fluorine rubber resistant to petroleum base oil, double ester oil, silicone ether oil, silicone acid oil, inorganic acid oil, resistant to most organic, inorganic solvents, drugs, but not resistant to low molecular ketone, ether, ester, and amine, ammonia, hydrofluoric acid, chlorosulfonic acid, phosphoric acid hydraulic oil. Type 23 fluoride glue was impregnated in 98% HNO3 at room temperature for 27 days and its volume expansion was only 13% to 15%.
6. Radiation resistance
Fluorine rubber is a material resistant to medium dose of radiation. The radiation effect of high energy ray can cause the cracking and structure of fluorine rubber. The radiation resistance of fluorine rubber is one of the relatively poor elastomers.
7. Electric performance
The electrical insulation performance of fluorine rubber is relatively general, and the temperature has a great impact on its electrical performance, that is, with the increase of temperature, the insulation resistance decreases significantly. Therefore, fluorine rubber generally cannot be used as an insulating material used at high temperature.
8.Mechanical properties
The fluorine rubber sealing ring has high tensile strength and hardness, and has good advantages in tear resistance strength and tear elongation, but the elasticity is general. In general, the compression permanent deformation of fluoro rubber at high temperature is large, but if compared with the same conditions, such as the compression permanent deformation at the same time at 150ºC, nitrile and neoprene rubber are larger than that of type 26 fluorine rubber, and the compression deformation of type 26 fluorine rubber at 200ºC 24 h is equivalent to the compression deformation of butyl rubber at 150ºC 24 h.
The tensile strength is inversely proportional to hardness and temperature. Below 150 degrees C, the intensity begins to decrease, and changes plateau between 150 and 260ºC.
9.Flame-retardant performance
The flame retardant of fluorine rubber depends on the content of halogen in the molecular structure. The more the halogen is, the easier it is to burn. Fluorinated rubber can burn in contact with the flame, but automatically extinguish after leaving the flame, so fluorine rubber belongs to self-extinguishing rubber.
