Material characteristics of nitrile rubber

1. Nitrile rubber is a crystalline amorphous polymer  with low adhesive strength,which requires the addition of a reinforcing agent to have practical value. Nitrile rubber with a higher mass fraction helps to improve the strength and wear resistance of vulcanized rubber, but it will reduce elasticity.

2. Oil resistance is a prominent feature of nitrile rubber, which contains polar nitrile groups and is resistant to nonpolar or weakly polar mineral oils, animal and vegetable oils, liquid fuels, and solvents chemicals have good resistance. The higher the mass fraction of the nitrile rubber, the better the oil resistance.

3. The heat resistance is superior to NR, SBR, and CR, and can be used for a long time in hot air at 120ºC.

4. Cold resistance and low temperature resistance are poor, and the higher the nitrile rubber mass fraction, the poorer the cold resistance.

5. The airtightness is good, second only to IIR in general rubber.

6. The heat-resistant oxidation and photoaging properties are superior to NR.

7. The dielectric properties of nitrile rubber are poor and belong to the category of semiconductor rubber.
